HLT heater is now wood fired!

Finally – our new hot liquor heating system has been commissioned and fired up. All the water used for mashing and sparging is now heated via our 30 KW log burner. We use 2500 litres of water at 75 + degrees C each time we brew. That’s a lot of energy required to keep that that hot so we’re now doing our small bit for the environment and reducing the leccy bill a bit too.
